Q:
How long does it take to obtain a state medical
license?
-
-
A:
Each state has its own timelines. Some states will require us to
use the Federation Credentials Verification Service. This process
takes about 8 - 10 weeks for AMG's and
10 - 12 weeks for IMG's. Some states
will license once the application file is complete; others require
that the file be presented at their board meeting. Also, some
states require an interview before they will issue a physician a
license. At P&N,
we do all we can to make sure your documents arrive at the state
board and that you are licensed as quickly as possible. Please
call us to determine the time of processing.

-
Q:
Are your fees all-inclusive?
-
-
A:
Our
fee schedule
includes completing your application, filling out the necessary
verification forms, filing your state application, and any follow
up work to retain a license number for you. Any additional fees
that are required, fees you would have to pay if processing this
yourself, are estimated and billed separately. You will receive an estimated invoice for these
fees once you have forwarded your CV to us.

-
Q:
What forms must I fill out to get started with P&N?
-
-
A:
At
P&N,
we've streamlined the application process to make our services as
convenient as possible. There are no forms to complete! Just either email or fax your CV to us and we
can begin processing your application today! You can even pay online! We will
estimate the fees, mailing costs, and application fee and send you an invoice.
You will then forward a check or pay online so that we can begin the licensing
process. Once the license is issued, we will forward you a receipt and a final
bill or refund of fees if paid up front.

Q:
Why would a
physician pay a service to do something they could do
themselves?
-
A:
"That is a good and fair question. A physician can do it for
himself at no out of pocket cost. But what is the cost to a Dr
in time and stress? Those physicians utilizing licensing
services do so generally because their time is at a short
supply, they don't have the patience to follow-up with the
boards, the patience to review the application for completion
and the professional overview of the application process that
a licensing service brings to the table. Individually they
probably do not have the rapport that has been built up
between the different state medical boards that a licensing
service has. They may not know where to turn to get the
answers to some difficult questions. License completion is
what we do every day all day, we are professionals. Our fees
are about equal to two hours net pay for most doctors. As we
state in our literature-quality completion, competitive
pricing, thorough follow-up, confidentiality, record retention
and convenient progress reports lead to less stress, more
production within the current practice and the freedom to
enjoy time with family. Licensing services lead to quicker
issue times for the intended destination. Every year about 10%
of the 60,000 plus doctors obtaining a different state license
due to relocation and/or obtaining additional state licenses
for personal reasons turn to a licensing service. As busy
physicians and nurses learn about this industry more are
utilizing these services.
